We come to you, Father,

in the name of your Son

who gives us new life.

Send your Spirit upon our parish.

May your Spirit lead us through the pilgrimage we have begun.

Trusting in your great love,

we ask you to bless us

as with one heart and one mind

we unite to build this church.

By means of this church,

we hope to obtain comfort and strength

in the midst of the difficulties of life

and to pass on to our children

our faith and our heritage.

Help us to see that what we must build

is not just brick and stone, but love,

compassion, and understanding among all people.

We are building your holy city.

We consecrate to you all our efforts

as we build a place of worship that reflects our faith.

Hear our prayer for vision and guidance,

which we make in the name of Jesus Christ,

your son, our Saviour and Lord.
